A.3 FUTURE CONTRACT OPTIONS
A.3.1 Physical security systems have gained in popularity due to current threats and events. TARDEC leadership has a long term plan for the physical security of all TARDEC buildings on this installation. It is the intent to meet this goal within five years while also keeping the system in place up to date with the latest technologies. Therefore TARDEC request keeping this period of performance open for five years. TARDEC has already procured the main components of the card reading system and has already tied this system in with other services on this post.
In order to meet leadership’s physical security goal, the below options have been carefully determined and could be funded as funding becomes available.
A.3.2 Option 1 SINGLE DOOR SYSTEM This can be defined as all mechanical and electrical components to add physical security to a single door. The components required are: card reader, door strike, Micro/Reader junction box, sensors and potentially a keyed over ride. These materials would be installed and connected to an existing Micro Controller.
A.3.3 Option 2 DOUBLE DOOR SYSTEM This can be defined as all mechanical and electrical components to add physical security to a double door. The components required are: card reader, locking device (mag-locks, strike, panic bar), Micro/Reader junction box, sensors and potentially a keyed over ride. These materials would be installed and connected to an existing Micro Controller.
A.3.4 Option 3 READER INTERFACE BOARD The Reader Interface Board (8RP) can manage and control up to 8 card readers. In the case that an 8RP card is full this option will allow for another card to be installed in a spare slot (A maximum of 2 8RP boards can be used in a micro controller).
A.3.5 Option 4 MICRO CONTROLLER In the case that readers are installed in a building currently without a controller, this option allows for one to be installed. The components required are: junction box, micro controller, power supply and all miscellaneous connectors and hardware.
A.3.6 Option 5 KEYED OVER RIDE SWITCH TARDEC is now getting request for keyed over ride switches in the case a door lock system fails. It is anticipated that switches will have to be ordered in the future.
A.3.7 Option 6 MICRO CXN/PLUS CPU BOARD In the case that new micro controllers are installed, this option allows the micro controller and all associated readers to communicate with the access control system console. This also allows the micro controller to retain memory in the case of a power outage so that programming remains in affect without the main console being powered on.
A.4. COMMENCEMENT AND COMPLETION OF WORK
The Contractor shall be required to:
A.4.1. Project shall be completed no later than 30 calendar days after date of receipt of notice to proceed.
