Questions
Question No. 1
It is anticipated that the existing card readers will remain in place. Are the existing Card Readers CAC compliant?
Answer No. 1
Existing card readers will remain in place. No, existing card readers are not CAC compliant, nor do we want CAC compliant card readers over the next 5 years. TARDEC uses and will continue to use proximity card readers per the SOW, Model T-520SW reader (or compatible reader that uses Supervised F2F).
Some of our older existing card readers are the GE model 940 card reader. It is likely that these will fail over time and need replaced with the Model T-520SW reader (or compatible reader that uses Supervised F2F).
