ATTACHMENT II
Boiler Plant Description
3.1 Boiler plant: Year of construction 1986. Heat is generated by means of 3 automatically gas-fired boilers.
Rated capacity per boiler is 3.91 MW and steam rate 6.0 t/h. Operational pressure is 6 bar. Admissible maximum pressure of saturated steam is 10 bar.
3.2 Gas firing system: The burners are 100% automatic gas blow burners, make ELCO Klöckner(excess pressure type) with floating-point operation. Adjustment will be made by a coupled control device. Gas feeding is made by a gas station of the Gruenstadt City Works. The gas pressure is 0.8 bar. Possible leakages of the gas system are monitored by a central gas warning system.
3.3 Flue gas – heat recovery system: Between flue gas outlet and chimney inlet of the flue gas pipes a heat recovery system for condensate heating is installed.
3.4 Switch points and control cabinets: A separate control panel automatically controls each boiler, burner and heat recovery unit. Possible malfunctions are signaled by a collective malfunction system.
35 Chimney system: After flow through the heat exchangers the exhaust gas of the boilers will be led into the central chimney system via individual smoke pipes of stainless steel. The chimney consists of 3 flue gas vents of stainless steel with joint pipe to be jacketed.
3.6 Water treatment system: The required fill- and completion water will be treated by a softening system
(automatic pendulum system). Certain protective chemicals having been used up to now with good results shall be used also in the future.
3.7 Condensate system: Condensate resulting from the use of the high pressure- and low pressure-side is led into a separate manifold each and guided into the condensate tank via a flow rate- and temperature meter.
3.8 Domestic water heater: Two storage heaters of 1000 l capacity generate hot water for the dayrooms and Bldg. #
3556 (south).
3.9 The system meets the requirements of TRD 604 for a 24-hour-operation without permanent supervision.
