About this file

This is a Hydrant Flow Test report documenting the results of a fire protection system test conducted at RIA Buildings 102, 103 & 104 in Rock Island, Illinois on June 5, 2024. The test was performed by the City of Rock Island at 7:45 a.m. using water supplied by Rock Island Arsenal for sprinkler design purposes.

The test measured flow rates from Fire Hydrant 112 (flow hydrant) and Fire Hydrant 110 (gauge hydrant). The primary hydrant (A1) had a 2.5-inch opening with a 0.9 coefficient and zero pitot reading, producing 1193 GPM at zero back pressure. At 20 PSI residual pressure, the flow measured 2286 GPM, while at 0 PSI residual pressure, the flow measured 2845 GPM. The static reading was 60 PSI with a residual reading of 48 PSI. The estimated consumption during the test was 1193 gallons. The report includes a pressure-flow curve graph showing the relationship between flow (in GPM) and pressure (in PSI), with the test point marked at 2286 GPM.
