KABD250001 Replace AC System B501, Maui HI Solicitation RFP Questions & Answers

Date: 03-Sep-2025

1. A couple of concerns that we had after visiting the site. The valve handles on a lot of the equipment are in really bad shape and there is no way that we will be able to close and reopen the chiller valves. They will need to be replaced. Also, there will be a good amount of insulation that will need to be removed just to get access to the valves and that is not called out in the specification either. Here are a couple of pictures of the valves onsite.

Answer: We will add replacement of these valves to SOW. Additionally we added clarifying verbiage to be sure contractor replaces both water pump and motor assembly.
