About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity W50S9H26QA037 concerning the installation of a vehicle lift at Camp Douglas.
The project involves replacing an existing lift with a new lift that must not exceed a footprint of 22 feet length by 12 feet width. The Government will handle removal of the existing lift prior to contractor installation and will provide unloading equipment and an electrician for the 208–230V electrical connection. The installing vendor is responsible for moving existing electrical and compressed air runs to accommodate the new lift; both utilities are currently positioned at the existing lift location. The lift posts will be attached to 6-inch thick concrete that has been confirmed to support the weight of the lift and the heaviest planned vehicle. The contractor should refer to Building Drawings uploaded to SAM.gov for detailed specifications and layout information. Site preparation requirements depend on the setback requirements of the new lift's footprint, which the Government will address as needed. The installation bay will have controlled access during the installation process, though the surrounding area will remain active. The document clarifies that the new lift will likely have a different footprint than the existing lift and that removal and hauling of the existing equipment are Government responsibilities, not part of the contractor's scope. The document was current as of September 3, 2026.

11. If there is an existing lift and it is removed prior to installation. Was the location properly prepped for the new installation?
A11. Current lift is still in place. Will need to know setback requirements of new lift to determine what will need to be prepped by the Government.
12. Will the installation area be active, or will it be a controlled access for only those involved in the installation process.
A12. The area around the lift will be active. But the speciic bay of installation will not be active.
