W50S9F-23-Q-0009
1)
• Question: PWS Section 5.1.1 discusses soil sampling and how those samples should be collected. PWS Section 5.1.2 discusses soil and groundwater analysis. Then PWS Section 5.1.4.C States “Groundwater testing should be accomplished at the surface (if encountered) and to a depth no greater than 1’ above the water table.” Based on this statement groundwater would not be encountered at the depths of requested groundwater samples. Is groundwater sampling truly required, and if so, can a more concise specification of how and where those samples should be collected?
• Answer: If groundwater is encountered, perform testing, if not encountered, testing is not required. Testing will be completed in accordance with MI EGLE.
