Question 61: Riser diagram #E18 shows CCTV cabling terminating in Comm Room #111. Room #111 is an 'Instructor Office.' Please confirm this is where CCTV cabling rack is to be installed.
Answer 61: In instructor’s Office (Rm #111).
Question 62: What type of rack is needed in Comm Room #111? 2-post, 4-post, wall-mount?
Answer 62: There is a network rack detail on sheet E19. Use what is specified.
Question 63: New electrical service - The plans show the new secondary being routed underground, rising up the wall and then continuing above ceiling to the electrical room. These conductors are unprotected which, typically, preclude them from being routed inside the building. Under normal circumstances they would need to terminate in an overcurrent protective device prior to entering the building. Can we confirm that this is not necessary?
Answer 63: 4- 3-1/2” conduits shall be run above the ceiling. Each shall have 4-350 KCML cables. This can be considered a judgement call based on the AHJ. However, the NEC does require, under certain circumstances, a disconnecting means on the outside of a building.
Contractor shall provide for in his/her bid a service entrance rated, 1200 amp, fused disconnect switch (fused at 1200 amps) (NEMA 3R) to be mounted on the outside of the building at the point of service conduit entrance to the building.
Question 64: For the fiber backbone cabling, what type of fiber and strand count are they requesting? The project specs list about every fiber cable that is currently manufactured. It isn’t really clear on the requested product for that particular portion of the project.
Answer 64: No additional outside plant fiber is required. If referencing inside plant fiber, fiber is in place between room 122 and 204. Note #9 on sheet E7 notes this fiber is to be protected during construction. AV is noted otherwise. Classrooms etc. have CAT6 as noted (Notes 2,3, and
4) on the drawings sheet E7.
Amendment 0003
1. Question 65 has been incorporated in to this amendment. All questions and answers, 1-65, are now incorporated into the solicitation.

Amendment 0003 Questions Question 65: Specification 074113 Part 2.3A indicates that the adjustable re roof framing system shall provide an engineer designed framing system to transfer the loads from the standing seam metal roof system to the existing roof structure. Detail 12/A33 shows a 9'4" cantilever and detail 12/A33 shows an 11'4" clear span condition. I have contacted the basis of design vendor (Reroof America) and they stated that their system cannot accommodate those spans without intermediate support (steel beams, etc.) which they would not be able to furnish or design. Please provide guidance on how to accommodate this condition.
Answer 65: Please see revised drawings A16 and A33.
