Building 303 Firehouse:

SOW Paragraph 3.1. BLDG 303

Q. We noticed that part on the work in the base bid was solicitated in another contract. Is this work still needed?

A: No, Section 3.1.1 has been removed from the SOW. Please see updated SOW.

Q. SOW 3.1.2.2 instructs the Contractor to install speakers and system controls throughout department.

Please confirm any specifications regarding conduit for the audio system.

A. Rigid metal conduit.

Q. Please confirm the type of ceiling throughout Building 303.

A. Drop ceilings.

Q. Verify that latest speaker plan is uploaded to SAM.gov.

A. I can’t find any different speaker drawings in the project folder or in the 220469 Repair Fire Protection Base Wide folder. I do not know where the contractors got the idea that there were different versions of the speaker plan. I am not sure where 3.1.2.3 from the SOW came from other than being copied/pasted from the 220469 SOW. There was nothing in the original quote for the alert system regarding a ‘Video Distribution Equipment’ install or any video equipment listed in the plans. My preference would be to strike line 3.1.2.3 from the SOW.

Q. Is the Monaco transceiver required existing to remain? If so, will removal and relocation be necessary?

A. Yes, the existing transceiver can remain in place if it is compatible with the new system integration.

Q. Is the new fire alarm system to be installed prior to demo of the existing system?

A. The Alerting system shall be installed prior to or taken offline with minimum interference with the dispatching process.
