About this file
This file contains a pre-award Request for Information (RFI) with three questions and answers related to solicitation W50S8K25QA002 for the repair of a backflow preventer at Jefferson Barracks Air National Guard Station.
The RFI responses clarify that base utility maps have been provided to show the approximate location of the backflow prevention assembly, though contractors must field-verify all information. The government expects to issue Notice-to-Proceed within a month of award, with award anticipated for late March/early April 2025 based on the March 6, 2025 quote due date. The work involves replacing only one backflow prevention assembly located in a below-ground valve pit/vault in the West Parade Field, not both of the base's backflow prevention systems. The project requires completion within 45 days after Notice-to-Proceed, with work starting within 10 days of receiving the notice.

| 1 | Is there a civil print for the site or utility plan of where the backflow is located and/or where the line is running to? If so, please provide at your earliest convenience. | Base utility maps added to attachments. These are posted for informational purposes only to show the approximate location of the backflow prevention assembly in relation to the water distribution system. The contractor is responsible for field-verifying all information and these maps are not being incorporated into the contract. |
| 2 | After reviewing the related documents, It's clear the project is to start within10 days after receiving Notice To Proceed to the party who obtains the contract, and 45 days to complete it. Do you have some general timeline on when the project would start? | We typically issue Notice-to-Proceed within a month of award. That’s generally enough time to submit bonds, if applicable, and coordinate installation access. |
Based on the current 6-March-2025 quote due date, that would put contract award in approximately late March/early April.
3 I wanted to clarify that the above-referenced project was for one backflow device replacement; while reading over the description I noticed this line " The existing assembly is in a below ground level valve pit/vault and is in the West Parade Field of Jefferson Barracks Air National Guard Station. This is one of two backflow prevention assembly systems for the domestic water service for the installation. " that mentioned 2 backflow preventors. This project is for just the one backflow prevention assembly shown in the Statement of Work. The other is at a separate location on the base not included in this project.
