The description of this project notes that it will include combat arms training. Could you please confirm if this is referring to a live fire, small arms range?

1. For the Fire alarm, no manufacturer is listed on the specs but there is a drawing (FA-

501) where Simplex is mentioned. Is simplex the only manufacturer approved for fire alarm?

The fire alarm/ mass notification panel shall be Simplex as directed by the base.

11 10-May-23 Does the fire alarm have to be a stand alone system?

The fire alarm system shall be combined with the facility mass notification system in accordance with contract documents and UFC 3-600-01; 9-18. The combination fire alarm/ mass notification system shall a stand-alone system separate from other systems (security, EMCS, etc.) per UFC 3-600-01; 9-18.1.2.

12 10-May-23 Do we need to include PE stamping cost in our proposal?

Per specifications Fire Alarm/Suppression design will require a PE Signed design by the

CTR.

13 10-May-23 Do we have any specific part code for Textual display signs?

Text signs for fire alarm/ mass notification system shall meet the requirements of specifications 28 31 76 (para. 2.14.3) and UFC 4- 021-01/ ECB 2018_17. The text signs shall be compatible with fire alarm/ mass notification control panel.

Do we have any existing fire alarm & security system at site? If Yes- what is the manufacturer name?

Fire Alarm/ Mass Notification- This is a new facility; only existing system to integrate with is the central base reporting station; See specification 28 31 76; 1.8.

As per section 28 31 76, 1.8 Existing Equipment, Do we need to integrate new Fire alarm system with existing fire alarm system?

As indicated in the specification referenced, the fire alarm/ mass notification system must be compatible with existing base central reporting system which is Monaco.

Construction documents are for pathways and rough-in locations only. All system components and cabling are to be Government Furnished, Government Installed. Refer to details C2/E- 502 and C3/E-502.

On drawing S-004, S-005, S-007 is states (If hip roof option is selected details on these sheets are superseded by plans and details on volume 2). How is this selected, I see no option bid item on the bid sheet or a spot to place cost differences? Bid options have been added.

I sent out the lighting fixture and controls for pricing. My vendors are telling me this is a national account. Will the lighting package be furnished by the owner? If not, can you provide me with the contact to acquire pricing for the lighting?

Luminaires and controls must be provided by the contractor. There is not a national account for luminaires and controls on this project.

The fire alarm system seems to be written around Simplex. Can you confirm that Simplex/Johnson Controls is the vendor for this project?

The fire alarm/ mass notification panel shall be Simplex as directed by the base.

No details regarding the natural gas piping, neither the plans nor the specifications for the project were not supplied.

Refer to Keynote 16 on C-130. Natural gas line to be installed by National Grid from main to meter. Natural gas from the meter to the building should comply with the Plumbing plans and specifications.

Can an alternate for gas piping, for 1-230 CFH water heater, 2-750 CFH boilers, and 1- Class 1000 gas meter be utilized due to the fact that there are no details on the natural gas piping.

The Octave Bank levels equate to 64 dBA at 23 feet which would require a very custom housing to meet which seems unreasonable for an airport. Please let me know if this is required.

Please clarify the fuel tank size required, the one line states 500 gallons for 24 hours, however, a 100 kW generator set at full load would equate to approximately 214 usable gallons.

Provide generator with a fuel tank sized for 24 hour runtime minimum at full load.

Disregard Keynote 27. Raised floor was removed from the design.

There is no specifications for the transformer marked “Owner Utility PMT 300 KVA” on E- 601; Please provide specifications or provide manufacturer, catalog numbers. Is this oil filled or dry type and is the primary voltage 13.2KV. See revised drawing.

Drawing T-501, Detail C4 depicts the SIPR Outlet having 2 strands of Singlemode fiber but Key Note 36 on Drawing T-601 describes the same outlet type having 4 strands of OM3 Multimode fiber. What type of fiber & how many strands of fiber should each SIPR outlet get?

Provide 4-strands OM3 fiber to each SIPR outlet and terminate on duplex LC connectors.

What Category/Grade should this cable be?

Copper riser cable must be 24 AWG, 100 ohm, CAT 3, UTP.

Drawing T-602 shows 2-288 Port Fiber Entrance Cabinets (FEC). Is this a splice point or a cross connect point? If this is a splice point, would canister style splice enclosures be acceptable?

The Fiber Entrance Cabinet (FEC) must meet the requirements of the Optical Fiber Distribution Panel as specified in Section 27 10 00 paragraph 2.4.5.

All backbone fiber optic cables must be OS1 in accordance with specification section 2.3.1.1.

Drawing ES101, Key Note 15 describes extending 1-T3 Line for NIPR and 1-T1 Line for SIPR. What type of cable do these lines require and where do they terminate within the building?

These are T-carrier system lines. Generally, T1 lines are made up of 25 pairs of 22 AWG copper wires, and T3 lines are (28) T1 lines bundled together. Terminate on Protected Entrance Terminals.

The information provided on drawing E-601 and the specification is not enough to confirm the type of medium voltage cabling. Please confirm. See revised drawing.
