About this file

This document contains responses to questions regarding Solicitation Number W50S8B-23-B-0002 for interior door replacement at Building 3390. The solicitation requires replacing three existing interior doors and frames to meet a STC rating, including installing peepholes on all three doors. Responses clarify that new frames will be needed to ensure proper door seals and STC ratings. The hardware schedule specifies locksets and hardware. While the existing welded frames are in good condition, adjustments made to previous door hardware may affect sound ratings. The 90-day duration is negotiable if STC doors have a 13-14 week lead time. Wood veneers and an onsite presence after installation are not required. The facility cannot provide secure storage or offloading of palletized doors.

Sheet1 No. Question: Response:

1Can you provide a hardware schedule for the project? I did not come across one in the solicitation documents.See the Hardware Schedule provided. File: PTFL232108-Repair_interior_doors-3390-Hardware_Sched.pdf
2Verification that the PWS clarifies which doors require peep holes. It looks like the SOW calls out only door 1075 as needing one, out of the 3 doors.A change will require that all 3 doors will have a door viewer or peephole installed. Change is also reflected on the door hardware schedule provided.
3We noticed during the site visit the welded door frames are in good condition, Can we install the door leaves to the existing frames?
Past adjustments and changes to the door hardware, may effect the STC rating. New frames will ensure proper door seal and STC rating.
4“ We did not find “3.3.5. Provide hardware reinforcement for items identified in specification section 2.5 Hardware Reinforcement” as per the scope of work?See the Original 1998 Specification section file provided. B3390_Spec-08385-Sound_Control_Doors.pdf
5The duration 90 days is it negotiable if there is a lead time on the STC doors which may be more than 3 months(lead time is minimum 13-14 weeks on the STC doors)?Yes, a change order for the contract to be extended may be submitted, reflecting the lead time provided by the door manufacturer.
6HM manufacturer will not be able to provide a wood veneer on the HM frames. Is this ok?Wood veneers for the doors will not be required.
7Please clarify locksets and hardware to be used for the new doors. The Hardware schedule should provide the answer.
8Door 1079 has an electric strike which doesn’t seem to function. Will the new door require an electric strike? If so, what device to release?Correct, the electric strike is no longer in use, since the Advantor system was installed.
9Are the existing MagLock with card readers being replaced or reused? Is Advantor responsible for this work?Advantor will remove the existing Maglock, and will reinstall the Maglocks after the new doors and frames are installed.
10Is payment for Advantor’s services the government’s responsibility or is the contractor awarded? The area occupants will coordinate with Advantor for the removal and reinstallation of the Maglocks, which are covered under a maintenance agreement.
11Once the opening is started, will the contractors be required to provide an onsite presence until the doors are secure? No, security of the area to be coordinated by the area occupants.
12Are weekend hours a possibility to complete this task?Typically no, due to linited manning during weekends.
13Does the facility have the capability to provide secure storage for the doors until installation? No, though the doors may be stored within the facility.
14Does the facility have the capability to offload palletized doors? No, though a forklift and operator could be made available when the doors are delivered, if required.
