About this file

This document contains responses to questions regarding a Request for Information (RFI) for the construction of a Base Civil Engineer Complex. The RFI responses provide clarification on requirements for storm piping insulation, exposed piping jacketing, outdoor air duct insulation, and information on existing buildings to be demolished. Storm piping and exposed outdoor air ducts must be insulated per specifications to be outlined in Addendum 6. Exposed piping at all elevations requires PVC jacketing. Reference drawings are available on SAM.gov for buildings to be demolished, though the government assumes no responsibility for accuracy. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number W50S7U-22-B-0002 for the construction of the Base Civil Engineer Complex, with site visit details in the solicitation documents. Responses to the RFI will inform offerors prior to the submission of bids for this Army National Guard construction project.

Or just exposed in mechanical, electrical, janitors rooms? Please Clarify.

Q3. If PVC jacketing is required, does this only apply to piping below a certain height, i.e.

less than 6’ AFF? Please clarify.

Q4. Reference specification section 230713-13-3.7 Does exposed, rectangular, outdoor-air duct require external insulation? If yes, please provide type and thickness of insulation required.

A4. Yes, exposed rectangular OA duct shall be provided with insulation. Please refer to forthcoming Addenda #6 for additional information regarding type and thickness.

Q5. After reviewing the bidding documents, I am unable to find any information regarding the type of construction or contents left to remain in the existing buildings which are scheduled to be removed and/or demolished. In order to properly estimate the demo scope, any and all information regarding those buildings are very critical. Perhaps another organized site visit would be beneficial to familiarize interested demo contractors with those buildings so a more competitive price can offered for that scope.

A5. Reference As-Built Drawings for Buildings P-2, P-3, P-28, and P-30. This is the most current information for these buildings that the Government has available. As-Built Drawings are posted to https://sam.gov as attachments. *Note* - The as-built drawings have been prepared, in part, based upon information furnished by others. While this information is believe to be reliable, the Government assumes no responsibility for the accuracy of the as-built drawings or for any errors or omissions that may have been incorporated into it as a result of incorrect information provided to the Government. Those relying on these record documents are advised to obtain independent verification of their accuracy.
