Question Answer
1 Was reaching out to see if you could send me the bid plans and docs for your hydrant replacement job you have open for bid. Would also like to know when the due date is for them.
All of this information is already provided on www.sam.gov.
2 Threading: SOW specifies a 5″ Storz pumper nozzle and two 2½″ hose nozzles. Should nozzle threading match the local fire department standard (Peoria Fire/ILANG), or is a specific thread standard (e.g., NST/NH) required?
Nozzle threading needs to be NST standard.
3 Open Direction: Most ANG installations use open-left, but the SOW doesn’t specify. Please confirm the required direction.
Open direction is left opening.
4 Color: No hydrant color is listed. Is factory red acceptable, or does the base require a specific color standard (e.g., safety yellow or other coding)?
Hydrants need to be painted to match the base standard which is base white and top blue.
5 Bury Depth: We assume new hydrants match existing bury depths (likely 5′) at each location. Please confirm if all sites are standard 5′ or if any vary.
Bury depth is presumed 5' bury depth per existing infrastructure drawings.
6 CLINs 8-7, 7- 5, 6-6, 6-8
“While looking over this project I noticed that the solicitation calls out (5) fire hydrants and the drawing show the location for 5 hydrants, there are only 4 listed in the CLINs (8-7, 7-5,6-6, 6-8) the hydrant 6-12 is not listed.
Will this be given an updated CLIN, the drawing calls it CLIN 004 but the solicitation has 6-8 listed.”
No. Hydrant 6-12 was removed from the statement of work as it was found to be functional, however, was not removed from the drawing. Please disregard. We will attempt to delete the reference within the drawing and repost.
