About this file
This document provides questions and answers related to a solicitation for repair work at a MOGAS fuel station. The solicitation seeks a contractor to remove two existing 5,000 gallon underground fuel tanks and associated dispensers, canopy, concrete island and electrical systems at the station. The contractor is also to install a new cantilever canopy with a standing seam roof but no wall panels. Other work includes installing bollards and manual sliding gates. The statement of work has been revised to remove requirements for a new roadway, storm inlets and three sliding gates. Contaminated soil removal is to be addressed as a differing site condition if encountered during construction. The document aims to clarify project scope and requirements for interested contractors.

Questions and Answers
Statement of Work indicates to “Excavate if required to remove all contaminated soil”. It is very difficult to provide an accurate cost for this since it is unclear if the soil is contaminated and if it is, the quantity that has contamination is unknown. Can a allowance amount determined by the military be included in our bid instead?
If contaminated soil is encountered during construction, it will be treated as a differing site condition.
