About this file

This document appears to be a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file related to a fire suppression system modification project. The Q&A addresses key technical requirements, including the need for a Qualified Fire Protection Engineer (QFPE) to design and stamp fire suppression system changes, which must be reviewed and approved by the base fire marshal prior to work commencement. The awarded vendor will be required to use the rough draft provided in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) to start work and must submit red-lined drawings (hard copy or electronic) upon project completion. The document indicates that existing drawings will be attached, though the actual drawings are not visible in this image.

Text version

Since the fire sprinklers and the fire alarm/mass notification are being reworked or added to, will a QFPE be required to design and stamp the modifications?

Yes, base policy requires all fire suppression system changes to be signed by a QFPE.

The base fire marshal will review the drawing and issue an approval prior to work starting on the fire suppression system.

Will architectural, HVAC, and electrical drawings be required?

The rough draft provided in PWS should be sufficient to commence work. Awarded vendor shall provide the Government with a hard copy or electronic copy of red-lined drawings at the completion of the project.

Can the existing drawings be provided?

Drawings attached
