PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (PWS)

Lodging Services for 146th Airlift Wing, Channel Islands Air National Guard, CA

The 146th Airlift Wing (146th AW), located at Channel Islands, Port Hueneme, California, is a special mission wing assigned to the California Air National Guard (CA ANG). The 146th AW has been part of Southern California's rich aviation history since the 1920s. The 146th AW traces its roots to the fledgling days of the 115th Observation Squadron, an early military aviation unit of the California National Guard's 40th Infantry Division. The 146th AW is one of only four C-130 units whose contribution to our Nation's aerial firefighting capability includes equipment and techniques for efficient, effective suppression of large wildland fires from the air.

In recent years, the 146th AW has maintained a high operational tempo, especially in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and civil unrest in 2020. The Wing's mobilization for medical supply transport and civil support marked the largest troop movement in California Air National Guard history. Additionally, the unit has been pivotal in aerial firefighting efforts, deploying the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System to combat some of California's most severe wildfires in the state's history, to include the Los Angeles/Palisades-area wildfires in 2025.
