146 Logistics Readiness Squadron Vehicle Repainting and Corrosion Control
1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: The Contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, and labor necessary to perform corrosion repair and repainting of six (6) 146 Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicles and material handling equipment. Vehicles and equipment are identified by their VIN/Serial number defined in Attachment 1 Vehicle/Equipment List.
1.1 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE (POP): Contractor shall complete the project within 120 days of contract award.
1.2 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Contractor shall repair corrosion, dents, and repaint all six (6) vehicles and pieces of equipment to manufacturer specifications. Each item shall be painted, fully functional and free of corrosion, paint overspray and body damage.
1.2.1 Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, parts, materials, facilities, and supervision necessary to complete the specified work to meet original equipment manufacturer specifications.
1.2.2 Vehicles and material handling equipment are currently in use for base support operations. The Government will coordinate a schedule with the Contractor immediately following the contract award and intends to drop off and pick up one (1) or two (2) vehicles or pieces of equipment as the parties agree during the 120-day POP.
1.2.3 Vehicle and Material Handling Equipment List (please refer to the included Attachment):
1.2.4 Contractor shall paint the vehicles or equipment their original color. All corroded hardware and decals shall be replaced in the same locations as currently on each item.
2. GENERAL INFORMATION: The subject Government vehicles and equipment contain severe corrosion and peeling and fading paint. The corrosion problem causes safety hazards due to small parts of rusted metal chipping off of the items. The rusted metal chips become a Foreign Object Damage (FOD) hazard in the flight line area, thus potentially damaging aircraft engines. Paint fading and peeling problems can also lead to severe corrosion if left untreated. Performing this work will prevent future corrosion issues and FOD hazards.
