About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) Responses document for solicitation W50S6T26QA035 regarding a Window Awnings with Installation project, current as of September 3, 2026.
The document addresses nine contractor inquiries clarifying scope, responsibilities, and project requirements. Key clarifications include: the Government will remove and reinstall BAK-12 energy absorber units, with the contractor responsible for ensuring correct anchor bolt placement; the contractor must provide the testing laboratory and obtain cylinder break reports for the concrete pour; the work area is not a permit-required confined space despite being approximately 8 feet below grade; and no liquidated damages clause is associated with the contract. Regarding concrete specifications, the requirement is 24 inches of concrete with 6 inches of crushed aggregate subbase (30 inches total material depth), with the SOW Step 6.1 updated accordingly. Government personnel will perform BAK-12 reinstallation, tensioning, alignment, and system certification testing, excluding these tasks from contractor scope. Technical drawings and Air Force sources referenced in the SOW are attached as PDFs to the solicitation. Government review turnaround for pre-construction submittals will be completed within 5 working days to accommodate the 60-day performance period. The contractor is recommended to have a representative present during BAK-12 installation to ensure proper fit.
