SITE VISIT SECURITY AND SAFETY BRIEFING
You can have your cell phones, but no driving and talking on your cell phone
All photos must be approved by the Government.
All contractors must be accompanied by an escort during the site visit.
Project Overview
Construction of approximately 6,000 square foot addition to the Logistics Readiness Squadron facility.
Pre-engineered metal building system with insulated metal wall and roof panels and brick veneer to match the LRS facility.
Deployable Parts Storage Facility (Addition to the Existing Logistics Readiness Squadron Facility)
Existing West façade contains lean-to frame to attach new addition. Metal building shop drawings from construction of the original facility are available, upon request.
Cut existing insulated metal wall panels back as required to attach addition and flash between existing wall panels and new roof assembly. New 4” CMU and new liner panels are required along existing West exterior wall (see 5/A5.1B).
Sitework:
Existing building pad and foundation drainage systems were designed with this addition in mind. Therefore, no undercut and backfill is needed. Refer C7.1.
Protect existing perimeter drainage, scarify and recompact top 12” of in-place select fill, install new select fill as required to construct new slab on grade. New foundation walls will act as retaining walls for construction of new slab on grade.
Utilities are minimal. Connect new downspouts to existing underground storm drainage systems. Site underground retainage systems were designed to accommodate this project within construction of the original Logistics Readiness Squadron facility.
Mechanical:
New gas fired unit heaters and new ventilation fans with ceiling suspended makeup air unit.
Connect to existing gas stub outs along the west wall of the existing facility.
New HVLS fan.
Electrical:
New branch panel in existing facility electrical room. New panel to be served from existing facility main service panel MP.
Extend existing FA/MNS system to serve new addition.
Modify and extend existing lightning protection and grounding/bonding loop around facility as required for new addition.
Fire Protection:
Existing LRS facility wet pipe sprinkler system to be extend to new addition. Connect to existing stub outs along West wall of LRS facility.
Security:
ADVANTOR systems is the Government’s proprietary security systems provider and will provide all access control and intrusion detection systems for the addition.
New IDS and ACS systems will be tied into existing IDS/ACS systems.
Reference 2/E1.1B for security devices.
Supervision & Job-Site Trailer:
Contractor shall provide on-site supervision as required to successfully complete the work.
Contractor shall provide a dedicated superintendent. The Superintendent may act as the quality control manager and safety manager.
Contactor to provide on-site office space for Contractor personnel and project meeting.
Phasing & Occupancy:
Existing Logistics Readiness Squadron facility as well as all other adjacent facilities will remain occupied. Contractor to maintain egress for Logistics Readiness Squadron Facility at all times.
Contractor to erect chain link fencing to delineate work area and prevent access to work area by the public/ANG personnel.
HPSB Compliance:
Project has been designed to meet the USGBC/GBCI Guiding Principles Assessment.
The Contractor is expected to understand the Construction phase documentation required for GCBI GP TPC Assessment and include all administrative costs within the Contractor's Proposal. This includes the required Sustainability eNotebook submittals.
The Architect will pay all submission/registration fees.
Commissioning is required. The Government will employ the commissioning agent. Contractor will provide associated services included in project specifications and ancillary support – refer to commissioning specifications.
QFPE Requirement:
The Contractor must engage a QFPE to be involved during the construction process. The QFPE must meet the requirements of UFC 3-600-01 and provide site inspections and submittal review for the fire alarm, mass notification, fire sprinkler, and life safety systems.
The Contractor's QFPE will be ultimately responsible to certify all life safety systems.
QFPE requirements will be clarified in upcoming addendum.
Limited Source Requirements:
The following products/manufacturers must be provided by name with no exception:
Johnson Controls ADVANTOR Systems Contractor shall contact ADVANTOR during the bid process and get updated pricing information BEST Access Cores/Keying System Refer to the Government's solicitation package for requirements/justification regarding limited source requirements.
Project Management Software:
Contractor will be required to utilize Architect's newforma system for all project communication All submittals and RFI will be submitted electronically Web-based interface will be provided at no cost to the Contractor iPad applications will also be made available to contractor at no cost.
Regular progress meetings.
Frequency will be based upon progress schedule and work quality.
A minimum of bi-weekly meetings should be anticipated.
Third party project manager, if utilized, will be required to be on site a minimum of once a month - refer to administrative requirements specification.
PROJECT ABI DESCRIPTION
ABI #1 – Sodding:
Provide and install grass sod in lieu of grass seed in all areas disturbed by the project.
ABI #2 – West Parking Lot Addition:
Demolition of existing concrete curbs & gutters and asphalt paving indicated on the drawings. Construction of new concrete curbs & gutter, and asphalt paving shown on the drawings to extend existing parking lot in front of Building 1303.
If ABI is not awarded, existing parking lot in front of Building 1303 will remain, unchanged.
New Concrete paving (sidewalks and access drive to South exterior roll up door) indicated on the civil drawings is included within the base bid.
If ABI is not awarded, Contractor to seed (or sod if ABI #1 is awarded) all areas disturbed by the project included the area of the proposed parking lot addition.
