Subject: RESPONSES TO RFI #001
Project: F-35 – REPAIR ALLIED SUPPORT SUN SHELER
Job #: ANG# FAKZ182355 / SSL# 17135
From: David Donovan
1) Question: Per Sheet E1.1, 2-GFI receptacles are shown on circuit number one. The home run shows a circuit number 1 & a circuit number 3. Please advise if this correct.
The receptacles show only one circuit.
Response: One receptacle should be on circuit #1 and the other receptacle should be on circuit 2.
2) Question: Typical P-1000 SS Unistrut is indicated per the detail on the sheet. Can galvanized unistrut be substituted in lieu of SS?
Response: Substitution of stainless steel for galvanized steel is not acceptable.
3) Question: Per Sheet E3.1, the detail shows the three 100 AMP disconnects for Aircraft Power Position #1 on same rack as MSS. Per Sheet E 1.1 shows the Aircraft Power Station #1 located in the corner of new shelter, do the disconnects need to be located at the Aircraft Power Station #1 or with the MSS.
Response: 100 amp disconnects should be a aircraft power position #1 at the new shelter. Refer to addendum No. 1 for revised details of panel MSS location and aircraft power position #1.
4) Question: Is prior approval from the engineer required for a deviation from the LSL light fixture manufacturer listed on the lighting fixture schedule?
Response: Fixture listed on the drawings is a basis of design. Substitutions of alternative LED fixtures meeting the basis of design lighting output and distribution will be considered. Contractor will be required to provide point-to-point lighting calculations (vertical and horizontal) for the proposed fixture for evaluation.

5) Question: Per the site visit on 8/12, it was indicated in the walk that sawcutting the concrete on the flight apron would not be permitted. It will not be possible to complete the underground directional boring requirements for this project if that is the case. Please advise.
Response: Sawcutting of the aircraft apron is required, and will be allowed, for bore receiving pit, new shelter foundations and replacement requirements. Use of open trenching for installation of new power and telecommunications service will not be acceptable.
