About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to a solicitation for an FMU-153 A/B fuze system. The solicitation seeks the manufacture and delivery of the FMU-153A/B fuze to be used in conjunction with 105mm PGU-44/B projectiles fired from an AC-130 gunship. The fuze can be set for either point detonating or delay modes. The questions addressed availability of materials in the technical data package and requests for alternative options. The responses indicated that the referenced materials are believed to still be available or that alternative test fixtures could be proposed. Will the customer provide the contractor with the alternative options to be used instead of the specified mil spec powders including both types of Zirconium to Mil-Z-399 and Lead Dioxide for the Delay Assembly igniter mix, Drawing 5177546?

RESPONSE: The Government believes that the materials referenced above are still available and can be obtained.
