About this file

This vendor registration information document from the Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) outlines the three-step process for companies to engage in state procurement opportunities. Step One requires vendors to register with the state's IMPACS system to receive electronic notification of bid opportunities matching their business criteria. Step Two directs vendors to regularly monitor the DAS website and other state agency portals, including the Department of Transportation and regents institutions, for available bidding opportunities. Step Three requires awarded vendors to submit completed Federal Identification (W-9) forms and, if applicable, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Authorization Forms to the issuing officer to facilitate payment processing. The document emphasizes that vendors must register with appropriate IMPACS commodity codes to receive solicitation notifications relevant to their business.

The document provides guidance on the types of goods and services the State of Iowa purchases by referencing commodity code classifications and historical payment data from fiscal years 2016 through 2022. Registration is conducted through the state's IMPACS Vendor Portal, with detailed instructions available in the IMPACS Vendor Registration Guide and commodity code listings. The DAS Central Procurement Bureau, located at the Hoover State Office Building in Des Moines, can be contacted via phone at 515-281-7073, email at purchasing.mailbox@iowa.gov, or by mail and facsimile. The document notes that the state expresses a preference for Iowa-based respondents and providers of Iowa-produced goods, though no specific set-asides or restrictions on respondent types are mentioned in this registration overview.
