About this file

This document contains the agency's response to vendor questions regarding an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for waste hauling services at the Western Illinois Correctional Center in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. The IFB is seeking bids from responsible vendors to supply containers, waste disposal services, and sewage dumpster removal services for the correctional center and the Clayton Work Camp in Clayton, Illinois. The IFB clarifies that the facility has 17 steel carts and no tilt connected to the compactor.

The vendor had inquired about the possibility of having the compactor rental as a separate line item on the bid form for accurate asset cost recovery, as the current IFB requests pricing based on cost per ton with the expectation that equipment rental is included. The agency's response directs the vendor to refer to the bid form, indicating that this request may be accommodated.

DOC – Western Illinois Correctional Center – Waste Hauling Bid #24-426DOC-WESTE-B-41870 Amendment Response to Vendor’s Questions to Invitation For Bid (IFB)

Below is the response to the questions that IDOC has received regarding the above IFB:

Question: Is there a tilt connected to the compactor?

Agency Response: No

Question: How many carts does Western have?

Agency Response: 17

Are the 17 carts poly or steel?

Agency Response: Steel

Question: I have a structural question regarding the bid for waste removal services for Western Illinois Correctional Center in Mt Sterling, due Monday, April 29th.

Our preference would be the compactor(s) rental should be a separate line item on Bid Buy for accurate asset cost recovery. The current RFP has a request for cost for tons as the metric for hauling charges, with the notion that equipment rental is to be included in estimated tons. This could be a variable where asset recovery from the contractor cannot be realized.

Would you consider adding that line item to Bid Buy so the bid request accurately reflects 100% of the obligations requested of the contractor?

Agency Response: Refer to bid buy.
