About this file
This document is a Vendor Questions & Responses file for the City of Holly Hill, Florida's Riverside Park Pier Repair Project (25-BG-15). The project involves the removal and disposal of approximately 140 linear feet of damaged pier sections submerged in the Halifax River, followed by the installation of prefabricated dock sections supplied by the pier manufacturer. The work includes installing four fixed piers measuring 8' x 30' each and one fixed pier measuring 8' x 18', all equipped with composite timber decking, combination rail systems, and header kits. Additional scope includes shimming existing composite decking boards on remaining pier sections, replacing five LED bollard lights with electrical connections and testing, installing turbidity curtains and best management practices during construction, and restoring disturbed grounds upon completion. The project duration is 180 days for completion. No extension to the bid due date was granted despite vendor requests citing holiday scheduling conflicts.
The City of Holly Hill has already procured all fixed dock materials and will not consider alternate manufacturers or product substitution requests; bidding is for installation only in accordance with plans and specifications. All fasteners, including nails, screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and lags, must be grade 316 stainless steel, with dock washers measuring a minimum of 3-inch diameter for bolted connections. The contractor is responsible for removing and properly disposing of existing damaged pier sections, and liquidated damages of $500 per day apply if the project exceeds the 180-day completion timeline. Pier sections will be delivered with decking attached, while handrails will be shipped separately for on-site installation.
