About this file

The document is a Vendor Affidavit regarding the use of coercion for labor and services, issued by Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) in compliance with Section 787.06(13) of Florida Statutes. This affidavit is a legal document requiring all nongovernmental entities executing, renewing, or extending a contract with HCPS to provide a signed statement certifying that they do not engage in any form of labor or service coercion.

The affidavit specifically outlines prohibited actions, including using or threatening physical force, unlawfully restraining or confining individuals, exploiting labor through debt mechanisms, withholding identification documents, causing financial harm, enticing people through fraud, or providing controlled substances for exploitation. The document requires an authorized representative of the contractor to sign under penalty of perjury, affirming that their company does not engage in any of these prohibited practices. This requirement is part of HCPS's broader commitment to preventing human trafficking and ensuring ethical labor practices in its contracting processes.
