About this file
This file is a physical data archive related to a bridge construction and roadway reconstruction project within Arches National Park. The solicitation (Number 6982AF27B000005) is issued by the Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration for the UT NP ARCH 100(2) Bridges on Delicate Arch Road project located in Utah.
The project involves designing and constructing three 100-foot span concrete bridges to replace inadequate culverts at Salt Valley Wash, Salt Wash, and Winter Camp Wash crossings on Delicate Arch Road. The scope includes roadway reconstruction (4R designation) with one restoration (3R) segment, with the primary objectives of accommodating a 10-year design frequency flood event and providing medium-sized equipment access to each wash. The existing culverts are causing flooding, sediment deposition, unsafe visitor conditions, and frequent road closures. Principal work items include embankment construction (10,000 cubic yards), placed riprap Class 3 (1,725 cubic yards), roadway aggregate Method 2 (5,140 tons), and asphalt concrete pavement with gyratory mix. The Delicate Arch Road will be realigned at Salt Valley Wash, with the new bridge location moved north of the existing infrastructure. Remaining roadway sections will undergo full depth reclamation or pavement removal followed by a 4-inch pavement overlay, including all parking areas.
