About this file

This document is a construction narrative for the USNO Sequencing project at the Naval Observatory in Washington, DC. The project involves replacing and relocating multiple existing security booths, entry control facilities, motorized gates, and vehicle barriers to meet current requirements and improve operations. Phased construction is necessary to maintain daily operations, with work limited to specific timeframes Monday through Friday. The Contractor must protect existing surfaces, features, and utilities, and leave the site in the same or better condition than prior to the start of the project. Key sequencing requirements are provided, such as Building u construction must precede several other buildings, and certain buildings cannot be constructed concurrently. Government escort is required throughout construction at each facility.

The related federal contract opportunity is a Design-Bid-Build (DBB) solicitation (Solicitation Number N4008023R0020) for the Booth, Gates, and Secure Parking project at the United States Naval Observatory (USNO) in Washington, DC. The work consists of replacing and relocating deficient booths with new custom-built or prefabricated structures, as well as replacing outdated entry control facilities to meet current criteria and improve operational standards. This procurement is restricted to the NAVFAC Washington LMACC contractors.
