About this file
This specification sheet details requirements for 100 Level III rifle-rated armor plates to be procured through a state or local contract opportunity. The plates must comply with NIJ 0101.06 standards and be constructed from polyethylene material only, featuring a 10x12 shooter's cut design with 1.2-inch thickness and a maximum per-plate weight of 2.80 pounds in multicurve geometry. Bidders must provide NIJ certificates for the exact SKU, test reports from an NIJ-approved or ISO 17025 laboratory documenting six impacts each of 7.62x51mm NATO M80 ammunition and optional special threat performance data for 7.62x39mm and 5.56x45mm rounds, manufacturer specification sheets, photographic documentation of the actual plates, and a 1000-Denier Cordura cover material declaration or sample. Delivery must occur within 30 days of contract execution, with damaged plates replaced within 30 days of return.
Vendors must provide a minimum five-year expiration warranty with specified start date and terms, establish complete traceability through lot number and manufacturing date documentation, and supply quality assurance certifications such as ISO certifications if available. The agency reserves the right to conduct confirmatory testing through an NIJ-approved laboratory at the vendor's expense, and vendors must cooperate fully with this acceptance testing allowance provision. No specific pricing terms, set-asides, funding sources, or award dates are detailed in this specification document.
