Summary of Work: The general intent of this project is to demolish the existing High Bay light fixtures and wiring and to replace them with new LED light fixtures, occupancy sensors, wiring and switches. The project will also include to remove lighting Panel, LPA and to replace a new lighting panel, LPA and associated lighting control system/panel.

Scope of Work: Detailed scope of work for the above summary of work is as follows:

Workmanship and materials installed shall be in accordance with the NEC-2023, UFC 1-200-01 DoD BUILDING CODE (GENERAL BUILDING REQUIREMENTS), UFC 3-501

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, UFC 3-530-01 INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTING

SYSTEMS AND CONTROLS and UFC 3-520-01 INTERIOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

Where conflicts are found to exist the more stringent requirement shall be followed.

GENERAL INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS:

A. DEMOLITION

1. Contractor shall field verify, identify and label all existing lighting circuits throughout the hangar prior to demolition to ensure power to fixtures and devices located outside of project area is not interrupted (if applicable, rewire as required to ensure they are all powered in good working condition.

2. The existing high bay lighting system is fed directly from designated lighting Panel, LPA located in electrical room. Disconnect and remove approximately 124 existing light fixtures and wiring from the hangar high bay areas. Existing conduits are to remain to reuse. The old fixtures will be removed from the base and recycled; the lamps will be disposed of properly.

3. Disconnect the feeder from lighting panel, LPA with care and remove 225A, 480/277V Panel, LPA.

B. INSTALLATION

1. Provide new 225A, 480/277V lighting panel, LPA, and 20A, single phase circuit breakers. Re-connect existing feeder to new panel.

2. Provide one (1) Power/Relay Packs, Occupancy Controlled Dimming, External

Fault Protection (Cat. # nLight NPP16 D EFP) per bay. The hangar is divided up into four bay areas.

a. Install new wires and conduit from new panel to each Power/Relay Pack located in hangar.

b. Install class 2 Low Voltage (Cat5e) cables and connect per the Power/Relay Pack manufacturer installation recommendation.

PM333 - Replace High Bay Hangar Light Fixtures with LED Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, CA

3. Provide Time Clock (Cat. # nLight nDTC). The time clock shall be scheduled to dim to 20% or user defined level when hangar bay is vacant unless occupants enter the bay. Coordinate with building/Hangar security requirement for time schedule. The time clock shall be mounted on the wall in lockable electrical closet or enclosure located in the hangar.

a. Install wire and conduit from new panel to time clock located in hangar.

b. Install class 2 Low Voltage (Cat5e) cables and connect per the time clock manufacturer installation recommendation.

4. Provide (68) new high bay LED lighting fixtures. The new lighting system shall provide a minimum of 50 FC at desk level with uniform lighting distribution throughout the entire area.

a. The current lighting scheme consists of 7 rows of light fixtures, running lengthwise through the hangar bay, with total of approximately 124 fixtures. The new layout shall use rows 1, 3, 5, and 7 with new LED fixture, while row 2, 4, and 6 left alone.

b. The new fixture shall be high-bay LED fixtures thermally protected drivers with 0-10V dimming, produce a 4,000k lamp color and consume around 135 watts each (Cat. #IBG 24000LM HEF ACL GND MVOLT 40K 90CRI

ROTO DWH/ IBGPMPHB).

c. Install new wire and conduit from each Power/Relay Packs to the new LED light fixture. The existing conduit shall be intercepted at the nearest J-box located at ceiling as necessary to run new wire and to connect to new LED fixture in each bay.

d. The new LED (if in good shape).

e. Provide supports for the new LED light fixtures.

5. Provide three (3) occupancy sensors per bay. Total of (12) occupancy sensors (Cat. # nLIGHT nCMB PIR 6 ADCX). The occupancy sensor shall be mounted on ceiling.

a. The sensor shall provide HI/LOW light output so that lights remain on, at a low level when there is no occupancy in the space. The sensor shall auto dim by at least 50% after 20 minute of vacancy.

b. The sensor shall provide an automatic responsive daylight dimming per bay when daylight is present.

c. Route control wiring per occupancy sensor manufacturer installation recommendation.

6. Provide dimming capability on the new LED fixture via 0-10VDC input to its LED driver. The 0-10VDC signal is produced through the interaction of the daylight sensor and the Power/relay Pack module to provide a linear response to changes in lighting levels.

a. Install wall mounted control switch (Cat. # nLight nPODMA 4P DX XX) per bay. Coordinate with customer and provide 3 way configuration to turn all the light fixtures.

b. The control switch shall be programmed to have manual OFF with scene wall station with at least three preset scenes, full ON, lights dimmed between 30% and 70% of full lighting power, and OFF.

i. Raise or lower the lighting level of all of the new LED light fixtures in each bay at one time.

ii. Enable the occupancy sensors to dim all the LED light fixture in each bay upon detection of vacancy.

c. Route control wiring from the lighting control system and lighting fixtures per manufacturer installation recommendation.

7. Provide surge protective device, SPD for the lighting Panel, LPA. The SPD shall utilize MOV technology. The SPD shall have the following specification requirements:

a. Keep the conductors as short as straight as practically possible. The maximum allowed lead length shall be 1ft to maintain maximum voltage protection level.

b. The SPD shall meet or have a voltage protection rating that is less than the UL 1449 voltage protection ratings listed below.

System Voltage Protection Modes Voltage Protection Rating 480/277 L-N

L-G N-G L-L

c. Per mode single pulse surge current rating for an 8X20 ms waveform shall be no less than:

i. L-N 20kA

ii. L-G 20kA

iii. N-G 20kA

iv. L-L 40kA

d. Protection Mode: Provide the following six modes (additional modes are permitted);

i. Line to line

ii. Line to ground or line to neutral

Wire SPDs at grounded service entrances in a line-to-ground (L-G) or line-to-neutral (L- N) configuration.

e. MCOV for L-N, L-G, and N-G modes of operation: 115% of nominal voltage above 240Volts to 480 Volts.

f. The surge Life shall be greater than 5000 surges of repetitive sequential IEEE C62.41 Category B3 waveforms with less than 10% degradation of measure limiting voltage.

g. The total unit as installed shall be UL 1283 and UL 1449 listed, and not merely the components or modules.

h. SPD warranty shall be minimum of 5 years and shall include unlimited free replacements of the unit if destroyed by lighting or other transients during the warranty period.
