About this file

This is a roofing specification document from Table Rock State Park, a state government agency, for the replacement of the roof on the TR-1 Ranger Residence. The project involves complete removal of the existing asphalt shingle roof system, including all layers of shingles, felt, and metal flashing, followed by installation of a new 30-year architectural shingle system in barkwood color. The structure, originally constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, is listed on the National Historic Register. The scope of work includes replacement of any damaged roof decking, application of synthetic underlayment, reflashing and sealing of all chimney flashing, installation of leak barriers and ice/water shields, installation of starter course shingles and ridge vent shingles, replacement of pipe and vent flashing, and complete disposal of all removed materials and installation waste.

Bidders must provide pricing for four separate line items: materials costs, replacement roof decking beyond the quantity included in the initial bid (with unit pricing for additional decking), disposal of waste materials, and labor costs. The bid must specify the quantity of wood decking replacement included in the initial price. Any roof decking replacement beyond the included quantity requires approval from the onsite representative before work proceeds. All roofing installation must comply with manufacturer specifications and industry standards, including the magnetization of the roof area for nail recovery.
