Town_of_Manchester_2023_Holiday_Calendar.pdf

The document is a 2023 holiday calendar for the Town of Manchester, Connecticut's Human Resources Department, detailing the official holidays observed by the municipal government. The calendar lists 14 holidays for the year, including standard federal and state holidays such as New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Notable inclusions are Juneteenth and Good Friday, with the document specifying the exact dates for each holiday in 2023.

The calendar includes a unique provision regarding Lincoln's Birthday, where the Town retains discretionary rights to substitute the traditional holiday date with a floating holiday of its choosing, provided they notify employees by December 31st of the preceding year. Town offices will be closed on these designated dates, with most holidays falling on Mondays, though some exceptions exist such as Independence Day on July 4th and Thanksgiving on its traditional Thursday. The floating holiday for 2023 is scheduled for Tuesday, December 26th, offering additional flexibility in the town's holiday observance policy.
