About this file
This document is a collection of technical specification sections for a construction project at the Wilmington VA Medical Center (VAMC), specifically for a SPD (Sterile Processing Department) Cart Washer installation. The sections cover general requirements, environmental controls, and construction waste management for the project.
Key project details include strict environmental and waste management protocols, with the contractor required to minimize waste, recycle at least 50% of construction and demolition materials, and maintain detailed records of waste diversion. The project involves comprehensive site preparation, including demolition and removal of existing structures, with significant emphasis on environmental protection, noise reduction, and compliance with VA security protocols. The contractor must follow rigorous guidelines for material handling, recycling, disposal, and maintaining a clean construction site, with monthly reporting on waste management efforts. The project also requires extensive documentation, including an environmental protection plan, waste management plan, and regular progress reports to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
