About this file
This document is a detailed proposal from MacBick Labs and Interiors for laboratory furniture and equipment for the Telluride Wastewater Treatment Plant in Telluride, Colorado. The proposal covers the furnishing and installation of new steel laboratory furniture across multiple project phases, with a total quoted price of $94,544.95. The project includes comprehensive laboratory casework, fixtures, sinks, safety stations, workstations, mobile cabinets, fume hoods, and various specialized laboratory equipment. MacBick proposes a 12-week lead time after receipt of purchase order and approved drawings, with the understanding that the longest lead-time item will govern the entire order's ship date.
The proposal includes specific details on equipment configurations, including eight different elevation setups ranging from sink and safety station arrangements to column and storage configurations. The quote covers furniture and equipment at $78,399.49, freight at $3,678.31, and non-union, non-mechanical installation at $12,467.15. MacBick explicitly notes that fume hoods, mechanical connections, and certain other items are specifically excluded from the proposal. The company offers flexibility in installation, allowing the project to be completed in up to three separate phases if needed, and warns that during peak holiday and summer seasons, lead times may increase by 2-4 weeks.

1) All wall to wall dimensions must be field verified prior to release of casework, tops and fume hoods for fabrication.
2) +- Indicates area of casework to be reduced or increased based on field verified dimensions. MacBick drawings resemble architect's prints.
Cabinet and filler sizes may vary depending on final wall to wall measurements. MacBick requests that during the submittal review, the architect/owner indicate on shop drawings which cabinet(s) should be modified when wall to wall measurements vary from document dimensions. A) In order to provide the finest quality casework and furnishings and to assist in proper coordination of casework delivery and installation activity with the other trades on the project, the following criteria has been established and defines the required degree of building readiness to facilitate the start of installation. It is imperative that these guidelines be met in order to minimize, or eliminate the potential damage to casework and equipment prior to acceptance by the end user. Installation firms should utilize this criteria to determine job site readiness during their pre-installation inspections.
B) From the earliest stages, project schedules should take into account the following parameters:
1) The building areas requiring the installation of casework & furnishings are to be dried-in and unexposed to any adverse weather conditions which may damage finished materials.
2) For proper curing of epoxy sealant and adhesives, interior building temperatures are not register below 65 degrees relative humidity.
3) Interior building temperature is not to exceed 80 degrees to avoid undue drying of materials which could cause structural fatigue and damage.
Additionally, frequent or excessive changes in temperature or humidity levels during the course of installation, or once casework and equipment is installed, must be avoided to prevent damage.
4) Moisture levels should never exceed 60% relative humidity.
5) Windows and exterior doors must be installed.
6) All overhead mechanical, electrical, plumbing rough-in work, overhead soffits or ceiling grid (with or without acoustical ceiling) is to be complete prior to delivery of casework
7) Walls/partitions (whether framed, demountable, or masonry) must be in place. It is recommended that all painting be completed prior to delivery of casework and furnishings. Walls/partitions must have a minimum of primer paint applied prior to installation.
8) Wood or metal blocking must be installed in walls prior to delivery of casework.
9) Overhead lighting must be installed and connected prior to installation.
10) Flooring required to be placed under casework and furnishing must be installed prior to installation.
11) All floors must be level within acceptable trade tolerances. Specifically, the floor must be within 1/8" of level per10 foot of run.
a) DIMENSIONS ON SHOP DRAWINGS ARE TAKEN FROM HIGHEST POINT ON FLOOR.
12) In order for delivery of casework and furnishings to take place the following general guidelines must be applicable prior to the shipment of materials:
a) Lockup rooms available
b) Loading dock accessible
c) Entry to elevator free of charge or hoist must be present
d) Unobstructed use of hoisting during delivery and easy distribution of materials must be possible
e) Staging area for materials to be available
f) Areas of installation to be broom clean
g) Minimum trade interference in area of installation.
