About this file

This is a technical specification document from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) detailing requirements for a thermoplastic truck. The specifications outline requirements for a specialized truck including a Peterbilt 537 cab and chassis (or equivalent) with specific features such as a 13,200 pusher axle, air brakes, air conditioning, 264" wheelbase, and AM/FM radio. The vehicle must be equipped with a 260 HP Paccar PX-9 turbo charged diesel engine and Allison 3000 RDS-P 5 automatic transmission.

The technical requirements include two diesel-fired 3,000-pound capacity air-jacketed thermoplastic pre-melting kettles (6,000 lb total capacity), a 23 HP Kubota diesel engine for hydraulic systems, multiple safety features including fire extinguishers and warning placards, and various electronic components such as LED strobe lights, arrow boards, and backup camera system. The specification also calls for specific fabricated parts including a 1,500 lb rated capacity electric hydraulic side lift, steel platform with railings, storage areas for propane tanks, toolboxes, and various mounting systems for equipment and safety features.
