About this file
This document is a Project Narrative Template for the Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) program administered by the Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration. The template guides applicants through required responses for the FY 2025 TAG Awards (Solicitation #693JK325NF0004, CFDA #20.710), which provides funding to local communities and groups for technical assistance related to pipeline safety.
The template requires applicants to provide a project abstract addressing safety, equity, climate change, and rural transportation challenges, followed by seven detailed questions. Key areas to be addressed include: project scope and objectives focused on pipeline failure risks, specific safety concerns and geographic impacts, communication plans with pipeline operators, performance improvement strategies, project milestones and costs, evaluation methods, and potential for technology transfer. The template specifically excludes projects related to regulatory compliance or routine pipeline maintenance, with special restrictions noted for non-profit municipal pipeline operators.
