About this file
The document is a Supplemental Conditions file for the Madonna Creek Dam Repair Project issued by the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District in San Mateo County, California. The project involves repairing and stabilizing the embankment immediately downslope of the lower dam, which sustained damage during winter storms of 2022/2023 due to a clogged spillway and subsequent overtopping. The repair will involve restoring the eroded slope to its original grade using engineered fill, rock slope protection, and native vegetation. The project is scheduled to commence on-site activities on August 18, 2025, with work to be completed by October 31, 2025, and project close-out anticipated in November 2025.
The supplemental conditions outline extensive environmental compliance requirements, including pre-construction biological surveys, adherence to the District's Open Space Maintenance Program (OSMRP) Best Management Practices, and specific environmental monitoring protocols. The project will require careful site management, including strict access controls, noise limitations, fire prevention measures, and phyto-sanitation standards. The contractor will be responsible for preparing detailed work plans, managing site security, handling soil and vegetation, and complying with waste stream diversion policies. The district will provide a qualified biologist for monitoring, and the contractor must follow all environmental mitigation measures and guidelines specified in the contract documents.
