About this file
The document is the SMC Master Permit - Covered Activities List from the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, detailing a comprehensive inventory of routine maintenance, restoration, enhancement, and new facility activities across various park and open space features. The list encompasses maintenance activities for ponds/lakes, water supply structures, roads, bridges, roadside/trailside ditches, trails, creeks, and other park features, including tasks such as berm repair, vegetation removal, sediment clearing, wildlife structure installation, culvert repairs, bank stabilization, and fire fuel management. The document is divided into three primary sections: Routine Maintenance Activities, Restoration and Enhancement Activities, and New Facilities and Improvements, which outline specific permitted actions for each facility type.
The activities listed are designed to support environmental conservation, habitat enhancement, and infrastructure maintenance, with many actions focused on ecological preservation and restoration. Notable activities include native vegetation plantings, wildlife crossing construction, invasive species treatment, prescribed burns, conservation grazing, road decommissioning, and structural improvements in riparian areas. The document serves as a comprehensive guide for permissible maintenance and improvement actions, providing a framework for managing and preserving open space lands while maintaining ecological integrity and supporting wildlife habitat.
