About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the installation of a complete vehicle wash rack system at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. The contractor must furnish, install, and commission all components, labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to deliver a fully operational system.
The scope includes two interior vehicle wash bays and one exterior wash bay. Each interior bay requires eight wash positions with multi-function components including tire cleaners, presoak application, detergent/soap application, foam brushes, wax application, and high-pressure rinse capabilities. Equipment specifications include two wall-mounted articulating high-pressure boom systems, two wall-mounted festoon track systems with boom assemblies, two wall-mounted articulating foam brush booms, four trigger guns with spring holsters, four foam brushes with wall-mounted buckets, and four control boxes with 8-position rotary selector switches per bay. The mechanical system must utilize direct drive pumps powered by a 7.5 HP, 3-phase motor with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), along with an air compressor system and freeze protection for exposed components. The exterior bay includes one wash station on each side with a control panel, high-pressure spray wand, and foam brush, incorporating the same eight wash positions as interior bays.
The contractor shall integrate all components into existing government-furnished utilities: a 3/4" copper water supply and 208V, 3-phase electrical service. Installation must comply with applicable codes and standards, with all necessary mounting, piping, wiring, and delivery hose routing provided by the contractor. The contractor is responsible for system startup and commissioning, including full operational testing, verification of all components, and provision of 30 gallons of each required chemical for initial startup. Training includes basic operational orientation covering system operation, routine maintenance considerations, and safe usage procedures. Project completion occurs upon successful system startup and testing, completion of installation scope, and government acceptance. Excluded from scope are major utility upgrades beyond connection points, structural building modifications, and civil work outside the immediate installation scope.
