About this file
The document is a Statement of Legal Eligibility for the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program, outlining two options for nonprofit organizations to demonstrate legal eligibility for federal grant funding. Option 1 requires the coalition to be a 501(c)(3) organization, with its name and Employer Identification Number listed on the SF-424 form. Option 2 allows non-501(c)(3) organizations to apply using a Fiscal Agent, which must provide a Memorandum of Understanding describing the relationship with the coalition.
The related federal grant opportunity is administered by the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for Fiscal Year 2025, focusing on the Drug-Free Communities Support Program (CFDA Number 93.276). The program aims to establish and strengthen community collaborations to prevent and reduce substance use among youth (18 years and younger), with two primary goals: fostering collaborative efforts across public and private sectors and reducing youth substance use by addressing community risk factors. This funding opportunity targets applicants who have completed their first five-year funding cycle or experienced a funding lapse, supporting continued community-based substance use prevention efforts.
