Q&A Part 7
1. 1.3 Objectives: Second bullet references “maintenance of SSA owned Digital Recording equipment and software.”
a. Are you requiring the selected vendor to be proficient at the SSA’s current solution and provide end-user software support and, No, only to be able to send replacements to sites using parts from the 30 units warehoused.
b. de-install/install the current solution for moving when needed?
Current solution will only be re-installed at a single site, and only if the new solution has to be de-installed due to unforeseen reasons.
2. Agency has referenced a pool of “30 units.”
a. Does this pool consist of parts for current solution, or the parts that agency plans to purchase in anticipation of a transition from current solution to the new solution.
This pool consists of parts from the current solution to be used for maintenance of the current solution until a full rollout has occurred. As sites are upgraded to the new solution, parts from those sites will be used to backfill the pool of 30 units.
3. 2.15.4 Hardware Support (Page 15): First bullet references “deliverables reports describe in Section 9.” There is no Section by this number.
Should reference section 2.19 of SOW – Amendment 2 will make correction.
4. Third bullet references the requirements for “return to service” time frames. Three question:
a. Will the contractor use the existing conduits and cabling for Installation/de-installations/re-installation of existing contractor-provided equipment and/or upgrades solutions thereto?
When de-installing the existing equipment for an upgrade, all parts and wires from that existing equipment is to be used to fill the 30 warehoused units. It shall not be assumed that any installations of the new solution can reuse anything at the site.
b. Is the contractor required to “upgrade a hearing room to the new solution” within the allotted times in the event the existing equipment is obsolete and unusable?
The allotted times are for an installation of the new solution regardless of the reason for installation.
c. Who makes the recommendation to upgrade a hearing room?
SSA will order an installation of the new solution as indicated in section 2.10 of the SOW.
CLIN 120: Fully Configured …
5. For the purposes of clarification a "fully configured permanent” unit consists of hardware, software, audio mixers, cables, and microphones capable of recording eight (8) channels, is the correct?
CLIN 120 does not include software. CLIN 140 does.
6. Does CLIN 120 include installation?
No
7. Should CLIN 120 include cabling or the contractor will use the existing conduits and cables (if any)?
If the contractor’s solution requires cables to operate on SSA computers running Windows 7 (per SOW 2.1 bullet 1), the cables are a part of the Digital Recording Solution and included in CLIN 120.
