About this file

These Special Provisions document modifications to standard contract specifications for a water main installation project by the City of Tucson. The document outlines specific requirements for contractors, including provisions related to payments, maintenance, surface restoration, earthwork, and waterline installation. Key modifications include stipulations about parking for construction workers, noise control compliance with local city codes, landscape restoration, electrical utility coordination, and specific guidelines for material handling and bedding.

The contract specifies that payments will not be made for rejected materials, wasted quantities, defective work, or materials not incorporated into the project. Contractors must provide their own parking, adhere to noise control regulations, restore landscaping to its original condition, and take special precautions when working near street lights, traffic signals, and underground electrical facilities. The document also provides technical specifications for controlled low-strength material (CLSM) usage in waterline bedding, emphasizing compliance with Tucson Water Standard Specifications.
