About this file

This document is a Special Provision specification for high visibility yellow powder-coated steel square posts, likely associated with a transportation, infrastructure, or municipal project. The specification provides detailed requirements for galvanized steel square posts meeting specification T-20-13, to be coated with a specific "Squash Yellow" pigment coating with a dry thickness range of 2.0 - 6.0 mils.

The specification outlines rigorous performance standards for corrosion and weathering resistance, including salt spray testing (1/16" creepage at 1,000 hours), humidity cabinet testing (1,000 hours with no blisters), and weatherometer testing demonstrating minimal change after 1,000 hours, no loss in adhesion, minimum chalking, and excellent color retention. These technical requirements suggest the posts are intended for high-durability applications where visibility and long-term performance are critical, such as roadway infrastructure, safety installations, or municipal construction projects.
