DSCC Building 21 Sprinkler Drop Replacement

1) What are the building access procedures for access and working hours in this building? 0700-1500 M-F. After hours and weekends are not permitted. Contractor shall obtain background checks for badging so they can gain access. The badging process shall start immediately after award to prevent delays.

2) Does this contract require QFPE for the Sprinkler Design and execution of the work.

Designer Requirements / Installation Technicians. No

3) Does this repair work require design drawings? No. Not if locations are replaced in-kind. As-Builts drawings of the existing system will be provided and work locations must be marked as the work progresses and minor changes must be documented.

4) Will the space be clear of all furniture and personal items? No. If the work is safely accessible without the removal of furniture and personal items then that work must take place with those items in place.

5) What is the clean up procedure daily, completion of area? At each work location ceiling tiles must be replaced and dust, rust, debris, and water must be vacuumed and wiped or mopped up at the end of each day.

6) One-man drivable lift with wheel protection and undercarriage protection will be utilized is this acceptable? Yes.

7) Ceiling tile removal and replacement, is this the responsibility of the sprinkler contractor? Yes Is the attic stock of all ceiling tile available? No

8) Does this project meet the Government threshold to be considered a Major project that requires full time PM? I don’t think we would need a QC for this, just a foreman would be fine and definitely need the foreman to be a single point of contact.

9) What Fire watch protocol will be needed, providing that the building is occupied. I assume the government will provide necessary fire watches. Perhaps we need something that says they shall work continuously to get the system back online so they don’t tear out 1 day and return 90 days later to finish. All parts shall be received before any work can start.

10) Will the floors need to be 200lb Hydrostatically tested after completion? Yes, unless waived by the Owner and/or AHJ.

11) Have the Drops o be replaced been identified per floor and area? Yes

12) What is the expected duration of this project? The contractor shall estimate based off of the available information, site visit, etc.

13) We are kindly requesting to be provided with the Manufacture, model, temp, color of the sprinkler heads. They’re Viking, 155 degree, chrome, quick response pendents. See attached picture.
