AMENDMENT 0001
Amendment 0001 is hereby incorporated into Solicitation SP3300-22-Q-5031 and shall become part of any purchase order issued.
The purpose of this amendment is to provide:
1. Revised Attachment 1 – Statement of Work (SOW)
2. Revised Attachment 3 – Schedule
3. Attachment 8 – DDWG Tire Rack and Divider Specs
4. Zip file – A0001_Attachments (Question #1)
5. Zip file – A0001_Photos (Question #2)
6. Answers to contractor questions
Questions/Answers
Question #1: Who was the manufacturer of the racking to be modified, we will need the specifications of the current material including style, steel gauge, color, and footplate.
Answer #1: Stow Ovar Mfg., SA. The beams and uprights are steel, and they are 16 gauge. The uprights are galvanized. Also, reference the zip file – A0001_Attachments (Question #1).
Question #2: Can we get any additional pictures of this material? Specifically close-up photos of the vertical uprights for the pallet racking, as well as the base plates.
Answer #2: Photos are provided as a part of this amendment. Reference the zip file – A0001_Photos (Question #2).
Question #3: Can the upright be modified by us before they ship to the new locations?
Answer #3: No, all the adjustments for height will need to be made at the various locations.
Question #4: CLIN 0004 DDWG states that all uprights for bldg. 351 will be cut to 16’, but CLIN 0005 states that uprights for bldg. 351 will be cut to 18’. What is the correct height?
Answer #4: CLIN 0004 is Building 351 at DDWG, CLIN 0005 is Building 368 at DDWG. Bldg.
351 will be 18 ft. and Bldg. 368 will be 16 ft. Refer to the revised Attachment 1 – Statement of Work (SOW) and Attachment 3 – Schedule.
Question #5: Attachments 4 and 5 do not seem to match the drawings as far as quantities. Should we go by the spreadsheet, or the drawings?
Answer #5: Go by the drawings. The spreadsheet includes some extra.
Question #6: On the spreadsheet there are, “Bumped by Percentage,” columns, would these be the correct total? This is especially critical for DDWG since there are 2 buildings and the upright heights are different.
Answer #6: Bumped by percentage are the amount that will be sent to each site.
Question #7: On attachment “B” new requirements, there are 100 tire racks for DDWG, building
351. Are there specifications for these?
Answer #7: Reference new Attachment 8 - DDWG Tire Rack and Divider Specs.
Question #8: Are the uprights currently on site at the VA all 21’ height, so all uprights in scope will need to be cut down to 20’ or less?
Answer #8: The majority are 20’ high at the VA warehouse. The first upright in some rows are 21’ high. The 21’ uprights can be used as the first upright in a row when available, but this is not critical.
Question #9: Unloading. Is this part of the contract to be completed by us?
Answer #9: All new parts that are to be supplied in the contract should be unloaded by the vendor.
Question #10: Where will the material to be cut off and reassembled be unloaded and stored?
Inside? Outside?
Answer #10: Cut parts that are to be used for the installation should be stored inside. Locations for storage will be provided by the Site POC during the installation process. The site POC will also provide locations for excess parts after cutting that will either be recycled or waste.
Question #11: What is the proximity/distance to the reinstallation space?
Answer #11: Access will be provided at each location listed in the solicitation to perform the work necessary.
Question #12: Will the workspace be clear and free of traffic and product?
Answer #12: Yes, the workspace will be clear of traffic and product. It shall be the vendor’s responsibility to coordinate requirements with the site POC in advance of the time the space is needed.
Question #13: Will there be a dock location, or a drive-in door dedicated to a scrap and a trash dumpster? How many dock and drive in doors will be available and dedicated to the project?
Answer #13: Docks will be made available when required. To have a door location dedicated cannot be guaranteed, but the Site POC will work with the vendor to insure maximum installation efficiency.
Question #14: Will the hardware from the original disassembly be sorted and separated by type and size for each location?
Answer #14: Figure hardware from the disassembly will need to be replaced and have this cost included in your quote.
Question #15: What are the ceiling heights in the working areas for each location?
Answer #15: Figure at least 1’ of clearance above the height of the uprights for each location.
Question #16: Are LP forklifts and manlifts acceptable? Or electric?
Answer #16: Forklifts can be LP or electric except in HAZMAT Storage Areas. Recommend the manlifts be electric.
Question #17: Several of the reinstall descriptions ask for 3x5 t Guiderail, but no beams on the floor level. That won’t work.
Answer #17: Rail guide installations shall always have bottom beams to clear the rail guide.
Question #18: The addresses of the new buildings will determine the seismic anchoring pattern required for that area.
Answer #18: That is correct. The pattern used at all sites is all holes filled for the end caps.
Alternating front and back from that point.
All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
