Amendment 0003
Amendment 0003 is issued to extend the quote deadline from May 29, 2020 by 3:30 p.m. EST to June 9, 2020 by 3:30 EST, to extend the time for vendors to submit questions to June 1, 2020 by 12:00 p.m. EST, to provide answers to vendor submitted questions to date with three (3) pictures attached, and to provide a revised Attachment 1-Statement of Work and Attachment 2-Schedule of Supplies.
1. Question #1: Under the requirements, in section 3.3.1, it states to modify the door jambs to accept the new doors by adding structural angle welded to the current jambs. Our observations are there are two options:
o #1 The steel guides for the doors can be through bolted onto the existing 2.5” x 2.5” structural jambs;
adding steel angle only adds weight and is really not needed since the floor is asphalt and the current structure extends well above the opening.
o #2: Dig down at the bottom of the jambs and pour concrete footings with steel tube or angle going down into the footings that would also attach to the existing jambs. Then the door guides would attach to that.
Answer: Concur with using option 1.
2. Question #2 Bollards: There was discussion regarding the position of the bollards; 32 in total. As you know they are there in case a vehicle, forklift, or what is being carried swings wide of the opening, to protect the jambs and door guides. They are inside the opening by just a few inches, but if you want them in new positions, here are your options:
o #1: Cut them down flush with the ground and then core drill for new positons and mount the steel bollard tubes and fill with concrete. Keep in mind the new position would have to be outside the diameter of the current one in any direction.
o #2: Dig out the current positions, and enlarge hole for new position. Pour new footings with either integrated threaded rods for surface mounted bollards, or install similar to the way they are now. This would allow you to position them in any placement but is more expensive to do.
Answer: Perform using option no. 1.
3. Question #3 Power to the motor operators: we would need to know what power is at the current operator. It appears they are 3-phase already, but need to confirm. If not we will need to include running 3-phase there in our bid.
Answer: Door operators are 3 phase.
4. Question #4 Can you provide the name brand of the Tension Fabric structure, the size of the complete unit and a photo of the unit with the overhead door?
Answer: The brand name of the tension fabric structure is Shelter Structures. The size of each Structure 200 ft. long x 110 ft. wide x 23 ft. clear stack height. Photos of the structures are attached as follows- 0003 Picture #1, 0003 Picture #2, 0003 Picture#3.
The amendment is extended.
