About this file

This is a Scope of Work (SOW) for the U.S. Coast Guard Base North Bend Back Gate Replace project, effective February 1, 2026. The work involves removing two existing slide gates and replacing them with two cantilever gates at the base entrance located at 2000 Connecticut Ave, North Bend, OR 97459. The contractor must fabricate a new 21-foot-wide cantilever gate to match a 17-foot government-furnished cantilever gate, install both gates with all associated mounting hardware, and reuse the existing Hy-Security Slide Driver hydraulic gate operator and drive rail system on the new 21-foot gate. Additional work includes removing aluminum drive rails from the old gate and reinstalling them on the new cantilever gate to ensure proper mounting, alignment, and smooth operation, as well as installing approximately four feet of permanent fencing on the north end of the island between the two gates.

The contract is a firm fixed-price award to the lowest cost responsive bidder. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and services except for 110V electrical and potable water provided by the government. The contractor is responsible for all demolition and disposal of existing gates and associated hardware in compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, handling any interferences such as dirt, rock, asphalt, concrete, conduits, and wiring encountered during installation, and restoring all disturbed areas. All work must comply with OSHA Safety and Health Standards (29 CFR Part 1926) and applicable federal, state, and local laws. The contract manager and any alternates must be fluent in English and have full authority to act on contract matters. Questions should be directed to Contracting Specialist Ava Stow at 541-991-0079 or Ava.m.Stow@uscg.mil, and site visit requests should be scheduled through Unit Point of Contact Jennifer Hansen at (541) 965-8509 or jennifer.p.hansen@uscg.mil.
