About this file

This file is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for solicitation 70Z033QSEAT26003 regarding gate repair services at U.S. Coast Guard Base North Bend. The Q&A clarifies key specifications for the project, which involves removing an automated sliding gate and replacing it with a cantilever gate. The Government will furnish a 17-foot wide, galvanized steel cantilever gate (6 feet tall with 1 foot of barbed wire fencing on top) that is currently on site. The contractor must fabricate a new 21-foot wide cantilever gate to match the existing 17-foot gate in height and material specifications. The 17-foot gate on the west side will remain manual and requires no new gate operator or controller system, while only the 21-foot gate will require a new automated gate operator and controller system.

The Q&A document does not address budget constraints, as the Government indicated this question cannot be answered. Interested contractors are encouraged to conduct a site visit on February 11, 2026, at 0900 hours at the Base North Bend location (2000 Connecticut Avenue, North Bend, Oregon 97459) to view the existing 17-foot gate and assess project requirements. Contractors must RSVP for the site visit by February 9, 2026, by emailing the Contract Specialist, Ava Stow, at ava.m.stow@uscg.mil. This solicitation is set-aside 100 percent for small business and will be awarded as a firm-fixed-price purchase order under the NAICS code 238290 (Other Building Equipment Contractors).
