About this file
This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 23 (Network Contracting Office 23) for fire extinguisher inspection and service contract support at the St. Cloud VA Healthcare System in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The VA is conducting market research to identify qualified business sources and welcomes industry participation. The requirement involves annual inspections and maintenance services for fire extinguishers, with the VA intending to establish a contract containing pre-priced line items (CLINs) for all possible services. The VA Medical Center will issue task orders against these pre-priced services as needed based on inspection results. The VA requests industry feedback on whether this pricing schedule model meets procurement objectives or if alternative approaches would be more effective.
Responses must be submitted by email to Joseph.Bennett@va.gov with the subject line "36C26326Q0978" no later than 5:00 PM Central Time on August 5, 2026. Required response information includes company name, SAM UEI, contact person, phone number, and email address, along with business size classification under NAICS code 541990 (size standard $19.5M) and socio-economic status if applicable. The PSC is H342. This RFI is not a solicitation and does not obligate the government; respondents bear all associated costs. Market research results will inform whether the VA proceeds with unrestricted, small business set-aside, or socio-economic small business set-aside procedures in any future solicitation, which will likely utilize FAR Part 12 simplified acquisition procedures as a combined synopsis solicitation. The VAAR clause 852.219-75 regarding limitations on subcontracting may apply if a socio-economic set-aside is used.
