FOOD FOR PEACE – FISCAL YEAR 2013 PROGRAMS

In FY 2013, Food for Peace provided approximately

1.1 million metric tons of Title II food aid valued at approximately $1.4 billion in 46 countries.

In addition, Food for Peace provided $577.6 million in grants in 29 countries for local and regional purchase of food commodities, food vouchers and cash transfers under the Emergency Food Security Program (EFSP).

It is important to note that many FFP programs are implemented over multiple fiscal years and may not begin until the end of a fiscal year, thus will not have beneficiaries until the following fiscal year. The below beneficiary numbers include programs that were awarded in FY 2012 and FY 2013 and implemented in FY 2013. It is expected that some

10.7 million additional beneficiaries will be reached with grants awarded at the end of FY 2013 that began in FY 2014.
